Disappointment

If even Naomi Wolf voted for Obama, despite believing that his voting record is unacceptable, because he’s “the lesser evil”, no one ever’s going to refuse to take the least-worst option offered to them.

The link is messed up, an extra “http//”. Great blog by the way.

  2. I get the impression that you think it would be even less-worse to not vote. If so, you would have to agree that people should pick the lesser evil, no?

What is the reasoning? You write as if there is some quality, some attribute X, such that, when one possesses X in sufficient quantity, one would never settle for the lesser evil; and Naomi Wolf has lots of X, but as it turns out not enough. But what is X?

  4. Thanks, EuroLand Dan.

There’s just something about wordpress that keeps adding unnecessary http://s to things I enter into databoxes. I should probably just type things out longhand.

“I get the impression that you think it would be even less-worse to not vote. If so, you would have to agree that people should pick the lesser evil, no?”

No. Sometimes people have to stop and demand the good. There can be a level of minimum acceptability below which no presented option should be chosen.

    “But what is X?”

    Long-term awareness of consequences?

  5. I was going to say “then demanding the good is the least-worse option”, but I just noticed you said “presented option”. I see what you mean now – agreed.
